Early Life and Career

Jaleel McLaughlin was born on July 27, 1997, in Seattle, Washington. He attended Union High School in Elma, where he set multiple school records in football and track. As a senior, he rushed for 2,154 yards and 25 touchdowns, while also recording 51 tackles and 2 interceptions on defense.

In 2016, McLaughlin signed a letter of intent to play football at the University of Southern California (USC). However, he was forced to sit out his freshman season after suffering a torn ACL.

College Career

In 2017, McLaughlin returned to the field and immediately made an impact for the Trojans. He rushed for 882 yards and 8 touchdowns in 13 games, earning Pac-12 Offensive Freshman of the Year honors.
